For the last 17 years, the Lighthouse of Oakland County has helped make Christmas merry for needy families. This year, they are running a little short. Spokeswoman Jackie Michelson says the program pairs generous donors with families who are in need. So far this year, 400 families are covered with donors, but they are in need of more donors to cover 90 additional families. She says most families are in need of the basics: sheets, towels, pots and pans, dishes and glasses, silverware.
