Google accused of using children’s personal data

google

Google is denying it broke its promises about using the personal data of children. Scott Carr reports: The Civil Liberty’s group, Electronic Frontier Foundation, has accused Google of collecting and storing data from children, who use it’s products at school. The foundation asked Federal Trade Commission to investigate. The group says Chrome books given to schools as part of its Apps for Education projects synchronize data with other devices, including every website students visited and every search term used. Google stands in line with its commitments that they only use the data to improve products and services, and not to target advertising. In a blog post this week Google said, “Personal identifiable data collected was only used to empower features in Chrome for that person.”
