Former DPS principal charged with conspiracy and bribery

Former principal of the Education Achievement Authority’s Denby and Mumford High Schools, Kenyatta Willbourn-Snapp, is charged with bribery, money laundering, and tax evasion. On Thursday, a Grand Jury found Willbourn-Snapp guilty on all counts. She purportedly granted more than $700,000 in tutoring contracts to the Making a Difference Everyday Company. In turn, the head of the company gave the money back to Willbourn-Snapp through a third party. Both contractors were also indicted. With the persistent low achievement scores from the EAA, Governor Snyder’s spokesman Dave Murray said, “It’s important that we now continue focusing on providing EEA children with the education they need to be successful.”
