Health insurance deadline extended

The deadline to sign up for health insurance on Healthcare.gov is being pushed back a couple of days. Federal officials say they are extending the open enrollment period because of what they call “unprecedented demand.” Healthcare.gov said its call centers had about a million callers Monday, making it the busiest period the site has ever experienced. Consumers in the 38 states that use the federal health insurance site now have until Thursday to sign up for plans that take effect January 1st.
