Protests continue outside Detroit Animal Control Center

Animal Control protest

Protesters outside of the Detroit Animal Control Center on West Jefferson say they are fed up with the way animals are being treated inside the facility. Southwest Animal Group representative Kathy Garza says there’s no transparency from the animal control center despite Mayor Duggan’s promise of transparency. The DACC is accused of misusing taxpayer dollars, mistreating dogs and allowing them to lay in feces infested cages, and not adopting the dogs out. Many dogs are dying and not accounted for. The protestors have demonstrated before out side of the center.  They say they will keep protesting until they animals receive proper veterinary care.
