Two girls shot on Detroit’s west side

Two young girls were shot on Detroit’s west side: one died and the other is in critical condition. The girls were 7 and 8-years-old. Detroit police say it appears the tragedy was a drive by shooting after an argument. Assistant Police Chief Steve Dolunt says the shooting occurred at a house on Steel Street near West McNichols and the Lodge. Neighbors say they heard a barrage of gun fire. Parents say the little girls were inside their home, playing with Christmas gifts when the shots rang out. Twenty-three-year-old Sharonda Benson is of interest in the incident. She could be driving a 2002-2004 white Chevy Monte Carlo or a 1999 red Ford Escort with a license plate of DDP 3694. If you have information regarding Benson’s whereabouts, please contact the Detroit Police
