Consumer Reports releases most loved and hated cars report

Tesla Model S

Consumer Reports is out with a year-end survey on the most loved and the most hated cars. The luxury electric Tesla Model S tops the list of most-loved cars. The next four are all about ultra-high performance. The Chevy Corvette is number two, followed by three Porsche models, the Cayman, Macan, and the 911. Consumer Reports also asked readers which cars they wish they hadn’t bought. The Kia Rio leads the dishonor roll, followed by the Nissan Sentra, Jeep models Compass and Patriot, then the Hyundai Veloster.

The end of the year is one of the best times to buy a new car. Dealers are clearing out their stocks, especially with leftover, slower-selling models. Forbes reports these lot-clearing models include the Honda Civic and Chevrolet Malibu sedans, the Mazda CX-9 crossover SUV, and the Toyota Prius hybrid hatchback. Now, we’ve gone past the very best sales days. People who buy cars on New Year’s Eve day usually do the best. But sales campaigns are still underway at many dealers.
