Vigil held for Jalen Ward

A vigil was held to remember and offer comfort to the family and friends of a 21-year-old man, Jalen Ward, who was fatally shot and killed on Detroit’s west side. The vigil was located at the corner is which Ward was killed. Ward was picking up his mom and siblings from a home on Pilgrim Street on New Year’s Eve night around 11 p.m., when investigators say a burgundy van pulled up and shot into his car several times.  Brown’s 9-year-old brother saw the entire tragedy. Ward’s family says the man had no enemies, worked two jobs, and attending school to become a barber. Police are searching for suspects in Ward’s death. Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police at 800-SPEAK-UP.
