Romulus couple and their daughter face prostitution and extortion charges

A Romulus husband and wife are scheduled to stand trial Monday in Detroit Federal Court in a prostitution and extortion case. Terry Tackett, his wife Kimberly, and their 25-year-old daughter Jessica were charged with extorting $2.6-million from an Orchard Lake software executive and businessman, Paul Vagnozzi. Jessica Tackett, who had a long history of drug addiction, died suddenly in late September. Prosecutors say she met Vagnozzi while working as a stripper, and then enticed him into illicit activities with her cousin. Prosecutors also contend Jessica and her parents informed Vagnozzi the cousin was a juvenile and that they would expose him if he didn’t pay them off. Authorities say he paid the trio $2.6 million between 2008 and 2012.
