Charlie Bothuell agrees to plea deal, gets 18 months probation

The father of a Detroit boy, whose 11-day disappearance made national headlines, has agreed to a plea deal. Charles Bothuell IV has plead guilty to 4th degree child abuse. Bothell told the court he did hit his son Charlie with a plastic pipe. He plead guilty in exchange for dismissal of the 2nd degree charge. The prosecutor agreed Bothuell be sentenced to 18 months’ probation and that he have no contact with his son. He must also attend anger management classes.
