Mother who didn’t want daughter removed by State and medicated is charged

Maryann Godboldo

The Michigan Court of Appeals reversed the dismissal of charges against MaryAnn Godboldo. Goldboldo didn’t want her disabled daughter to be forced to take medication if she was removed from the home by the State.  When police tried to take the daughter, Godboldo got her gun out. She was charged with firing at the police then arrested. A Detroit District judge dismissed the charges. The State Court ruled that the State was correct to remove the daughter and ordered charges against Godboldo be reinstated.
