Ice falling from the Mackinac Bridge is forcing the closure of the span to traffic temporarily. Officials say warmer temperatures and increased sun have loosened ice that formed on the bridges towers and cables causing some of it to fall on the driving lanes. The bridge is closed until the ice stops falling and the ice is cleared from the bridge travel lanes.
