More development expected on Detroit’s Riverfront

Detroit Riverfront from DR Conservancy website

A new Detroit panel will meet Tuesday and Wednesday to listen to possible plans for the development of the riverfront between the Downtown area and Belle Isle, which is viewed as a desirable area for expansion. Seven teams of experts will present their credentials and preliminary thoughts on their visions for the area and one will be selected to develop the area. Past plans have included calls for everything from high-end condos to casinos. The Detroit City panel that will make the selection includes Detroit’s City Planning Director Maurice Cox and the CEO of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, Mark Wallace.
