Ford Motor recalls Ranger pickups

The Ford Ranger is on the recall list.  Ford is recalling nearly 391,000 Ranger pickups because the driver’s air bag inflators can explode when too much force is applied, thereby causing injuries. The government says automakers will also recall another five million vehicles equipped with faulty inflators made by Takata Corporation of Japan. Recalls were prompted because of the crash that killed Jacksonville, Florida’s Richard Knight. Air bags have also been failing laboratory testing. The recall includes 2004 through 2006 trucks in the U.S. and Canada.
