New emails show the state knew about the situation with Flint water before residents were notified of the severity of what was going on. The state shipped in bottled water for state offices in Flint months before it became an emergency. That’s from emails released by an advocacy group. It shows that state offices were getting water coolers in January of 2015 as the state was still saying the water was safe. Flint had put out a notice of drinking water violations.
