Winter blizzard may make bigger impact in Iowa than political storm

The National Weather Service says a significant winter storm is on the way for Iowa. The forecast for most of the state is for 6-12 inches of snow, wind gusts of 40 miles per hour and blizzard conditions. Western portions of the state could see the snow begin as early as tonight. Iowa is a huge state for agriculture. And as the storm approaches, farm families and workers may have to forego caucuses to prepare equipment or livestock. Hourly construction workers may be trying to get in as much work as they can before the snow begins. For thousands of Iowans who depend on Mother Nature for their livelihood – political rhetoric that fills air may not be their biggest concern today. Despite blizzard warnings, the DesMoines Register reports the blizzard warnings should not affect Iowa “caususgoers.”
