Troy Police are investigating a fight between a mom and a hockey referee at the Troy Sports Center. The incident occurred Saturday morning and according to police, an 18-year-old was checked into the boards during a game. His mother, who is a 47-year-old woman from Pennsylvania, checked on him during the intermission in a restricted area near the referee’s locker room. One of the referee’s, a 57-year-old man from Beverly Hills, told the mom she had to leave the area. An argument ensued that ended up on the ice and players intervened to help break up the fight.
