Hundreds of millions of dollars to help replace Flint’s old water lines may be coming from the federal government under bi-partisan legislation that was filed in the U.S. senate on Wednesday. Under the plan, the Federal Drinking Water State Revolving Fund would be authorized to make up to 100 million in subsidized loans starting now to any state that receives an emergency declaration due to contaminated drinking water. Michigan’s senators, Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters are among the proposal’s top sponsors.
