A 26-year-old Detroit woman has been charged with dragging a Novi police officer following a traffic stop last month. Chantell Lashay Sturdivant is charged with resisting and obstructing along with fleeing and eluding. Police say Sturdivant was driving on a suspended license when she was pulled over March 7 for disobeying a traffic signal. The officer discovered she had multiple warrants out for her arrest and when he told her she was being arrested, Sturdivant asked if she could call her family to make arrangements for her children who were in the car. That’s when she fled from police, the officer grabbed her arm and was dragged before letting go. He suffered minor injuries. She was arrested in Georgia last week.
