Officials investigating small fire that caused evacuation of Anchor Bay High School

Police-Car-small-300-blurAnchor Bay High School was evacuated Monday morning because of a small fire in an upstairs bathroom. Ira Township firefighters were called to the scene to put out the fire.  It was determined that the source was a toilet paper dispenser, according to administrators. Students were dismissed for the rest of the day.

According to a statement:  “Police and fire departments responded immediately and there was no danger to student safety at any time,” The sheriff’s office is investigating as the fire is believed to have been intentionally set.
