Pistons owner Tom Gores, Huntington Bank launch program to boost Flint economy

Businessman and Pistons owner Tom Gores and Huntington Bank are launching a long-term economic development program to boost the economy of Flint which has been devastated by the water emergency. The effort will provide $25 million to support homeowners, businesses, and start-ups in Flint and Genesee county.

Mr. Gores, a Flint native, has put up millions and launched a $10-million private sector campaign. Huntington stepped up with millions more, including $20 million dollars in capital loans for small businesses. Partners of the project include the Mott Foundation, Community Foundation, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
