Michigan senators seek to eliminate tax on feminine hygiene products

tampax-pearl-updated2A new group of bills is being introduced in the Michigan Senate that would eliminate a tax on feminine hygiene products. Those products now are classified as medical luxuries, not necessities. The bills were introduced by Sen. David Knezek (D) Dearborn Heights and Sen. Rebekah Warren (D) Ann Arbor. Referred to my many as Michigan’s “tampon tax,” the legislation would stop the state from taxing feminine hygiene products.
