Pols Back Away From Cop Cuts

First-responders held a rally in Lansing to show opposition to bills in the legislature to cut their retirement benefits. The Michigan House speaker backed away from the cuts, at least temporarily, but says if nothing is done about unfunded health care liability, cities and townships will go bankrupt, and the first responders will get even less. Bills may be revisited next year to require police and fire -fighters to pay 20% of their health care retirement benefits. UnionPolice Lines have called it a disgraceful way to treat personnel who risk their lives on the job.
