The charges against a suspect in the murder of Wayne State University policeman Collin Rose will be dropped for lack of evidence.
31 year old Deangelo Davis had been charged with first-degree murder for the shooting of Sgt. Rose in November.
Davis was scheduled to return to court Friday for a probable cause hearing. That will be cancelled.
Davis was arrested Nov. 22. Rose died the next day. Davis, an ex-con, was known for riding his bike around the Woodbridge neighborhood. Police say they thought the killer was on a bicycle.
Police have been unable to find the gun used in the shooting.
