A freeway south of Lansing ices over. Dozens of vehicles crash. People are killed.
The accidents were on I-96 at Fowlerville.
Michigan State Police say three people are dead.
I-96 is closed at Fowlerville Road.
Police and fire departments are on the scene. So are EMS units. Some people are being extricated from their vehicles.
Snow squalls left the freeway and roads in the area icy. More than 40 cars and trucks tangled in these crashes.
