West Bloomfield Police say they’re investigating two persons of interest after human remains were discovered inside of a burning car this morning.

Authorities came across the gruesome scene at a vacant school on Long Lake Road east of Orchard Lake Road at around 1:30 a.m. Police responded to a car on fire behind Pine Lake Elementary School. When the fire was extinguished, police found human remains inside the car. Police believe they know the identity of the person found inside the vehicle — and are working to make a full ID, and notify the next of kin. Police say the body belongs to a woman. She was fully clothed. Police have made one arrest in the case, and discovered an outstanding warrant unrelated to this situation. Another suspect has also been identified as a person of interest in this case. Now, police dive teams are combing Orchard Lake for clues.

Police say the missing Farmington Hills woman doesn’t appear to be connected to the woman found in the vehicle.
