Trump Boosts Consumer Confidence: U-M

The outlook of American consumers has soared.  The University of Michigan consumer sentiment reading jumped almost six percent following the November presidential election. The chief economist of the monthly survey says the climb was in part because of Donald Trump’s surprise win. The December reading is just below a 2015 level that was the highest in more than a decade.
