Has the demand for a recount backfired— to the extreme?
A suspicion of ballot irregularities has been raised in Wayne County.
Reports from the Wayne County clerk show that optical scanners at more than one-third of Wayne County precincts counted more ballots than the number of voters recorded in the poll books by election workers. The Detroit News reports that, as a result, voting machines registered more votes than were actually cast by voters.
