Lt. Gov. Raises Money For Mentally Disabled; Fouts Contributes

calley

Michigan Lt. Gov. Brian Calley is raising money for an organization for the mentally disabled after tapes of someone that sounds like Warren mayor Jim Fouts making disparaging remarks against the mentally-disabled were released last week by Mark Hackel, the Macomb County executive.

Calley has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the Arc of Michigan, which is an organization that works to “ensure that people with developmental disabilities are valued in order that they and their families can participate fully and contribute to their community.”

Fouts has refused to answer questions regarding the incident, but did post on Facebook saying the tape is not his voice.
Fouts also writes that he will donate $500 to Calley’s GoFundMe page.
