Police Investigate Pedestrian Death

Walking along a busy roadway at night is dangerous. A man who was doing that in Sterling Heights is dead.

Police say a 38 year old west Michigan man was killed as he was walking along Mound Road north of Metro Parkway in the pre-dawn darkness.
Police say the victim, from Jenison, near Grand Rapids, was not using a crosswalk, and they don’t know why he was in the road. He was struck by an SUV driven by a Windsor man. The driver stopped immediately and tried to help. Police consider it to be an accident, and the driver was not detained. Police say the dead pedestrian may have been drinking.
