Businessmen Dan Gilbert and Tom Gores plan to make an offer to buy the Wayne County Jail site. A statement by Matt Cullen, head of Gilbert’s Rock Ventures, says the Gilbert team has been working with architectural and construction firms to develop an offer for the jail site. Wayne County Executive Warren Evans said he wanted the offer by Feb. 10.
MLS plans to add two teams for 2020 and two more for 2022. Detroit’s bid will be submitted today by Gores and Gilbert.
