GM Profits Down, Hourly Bonuses Big

GM made $9.4 billion in 2016, a slight drop from the year before due to one-time charges.
UAW hourly workers will get profit sharing checks up to $12-thousand, as North American sales continue to boom. 52-thousand workers will get those bonuses.

GM net income fell in the 4th quarter by 70-percent to $1.8 billion due to those one-time charges.
GM earned $12 billion in North America for the year, compared to $11 billion in 2015. Sales of trucks and SUV’s continued to be strong. China performance was also strong.

The company made a profit of $6.12 a share for the year and $1.28 for the quarter.
