A 48 year old Shelby Township woman is due in court today after being charged with the fatal stabbing of her 80 year old mother.
Julie Flynn has been charged with first degree murder.
Police had been called to the home at the Hills of Regency condo complex near 25 mile and Gratiot last week.
They found Joyce Flynn dead from numerous stab wounds.
Julie Flynn was taken to the police department for questioning, but she would not talk with detectives.
Police said there had been an attempt to clean up blood stains in the home, but that evidence technicians were able to find an extensive amount of blood
on the floor.
They have not commented on a possible motive. The defense may try for an insanity plea.
