Pair Face Trial For Giving Teen Fatal Drugs

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for two Warren residents charged with providing a teenager with heroin.
Police say 55 year old Donald McCoy and 40 year old Leslie Metcalfe got the heroin for 16 year old Sirena Lawson of Hazel Park.

Lawson was found dead last month of an apparent opiod overdose.

Police say Lawson and her boyfriend both had snorted the heroin and passed out.

A neighbor tried to perform CPR.

The boy recovered, but Lawson died.

An attorney for Metcalf said it will become clear that she couldn’t have provided the heroin.
