Corktown Fire May Be Arson

Crimes in the Corktown area of Detroit may be linked.

Firefighters went to the Katoi restaurant at Michigan Avenue and 17th Street. They put out a blaze. Fire fighters at the scene say it may be arson.
There may have been a break-in at Katoi to steal liquor, and then the fire may have been set.
The building at Michigan and 17th was empty. No one was hurt.

Nearby, police say someone broke into Nemo’s Bar in Corktown, and apparently stole bottles of liquor. The thief broke through a front window.

A kitchen fire spread to the duct work at the Wolfgang Puck Steakhouse at the MGM Grand. No one was hurt.
