Shots Fired At Police In Detroit Standoff

Shots fired— at police.
A man is holed up in a house on Kensington on Detroit’s east side. He has fired at police. The gunman had a fight with a neighbor on Sunday. Commander Elvin Barren says the gunman’s dog got away, the neighbor got the dog and returned the dog. The man gave the neighbor an expensive watch, as a thank you. But then— things changed.
Police say the suspect returned and demanded the watch back.
A fight ensued. The suspect went into a rage, firing gunshots. Police say the man who is holed up has a violent criminal record and a mental disorder. No one has been hit by the gunfire. Police are trying to make contact with the gunman.
