Baseball Bat Killer Sentenced

A 32-year-old Independence Township man has been sentenced for killing his wife with a baseball bat.

Joseph Mauti was sentenced to 60 to 100 years in prison. he confessed to killing his 30-year-old wife, Lindsey, who was found dead May 29, 2015, in their home on Cheshire Park Drive.

Their two children, ages 2 and 6, were found unharmed in the home.
Mauti was on probation at the time of the murder for a domestic violence conviction for beating his wife.
Mauti  also beat their dog to death with the bat.
