Michigan Supreme Court Justice Steps Down

Michigan Supreme Court Justice Robert Young will retire from the court in late April. Young will return to private practice.

Young has served 18 years on the Michigan Supreme Court, including six years as chief justice.

Young’s term runs through the end of 2018. Gov. Snyder will be able to appoint someone to fill the seat for the rest of the term.
Young’s office says he will join the law firm of Dickinson Wright.
A statement says “sometimes you just know when it’s time to move on to another challenge.”
Former Detroit mayor Dennis Archer is the retired chairman of the Dickinson Wright law firm.
