White Boy Rick granted a formal parole board hearing.

White Boy Rick has been granted a formal parole board hearing to bid for his release.  The Michigan department of corrections says the hearing is expected to happen in early June.  Rick Wershe, also known as White Boy Rick, was a former teenage drug dealer when he began working for the FBI as an informant.   In 1988 he was sentenced to life in prison for cocaine possession.  He was 17 years old.  He is the longest serving prisoner in Michigan for a non violent crime.
