A Wayne County deputy is under investigation after witnesses said he drove away from the scene after crashing into parked cars in Detroit. He was wearing a Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy uniform.
Video shows a car at Conant and East McNichols slamming into parked cars, driving away and being chased down by witnesses. He fled. No one was hurt.
Sheriff Benny Napoleon said the deputy is a 30-year veteran of the road patrol.
The deputy has not been charged.
