Detroit Cop Shooter Due In Court

He says he thought he was protecting his family.

It ended with two Detroit police officers being shot and wounded and it’s a case that raises key legal questions,

19 year old Juwan Plummer is scheduled to be arraigned today on two counts of intentional discharge of a firearm causing serious injury.

It was near midnight on April 16th.

Two officers had responded to a call from the Plummer home of a possible break-in in a vacant house across the street.

One officer knocked on Plummer’s door and was hit in the face with shotgun pellets.

Plummer said he feared for his family’s safety and fired his shotgun.

His attorney argued that Plummer had acted in self defense.
