Detroit schools, like many school districts, have cutback or dropped art and music for budget reasons.
But now some of the kids will get music lessons from some of the best. Musicians of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will offer free lessons at an east side public school. The DSO will give details on Mackinac Island at the Detroit Regional Chamber conference.
