More Pleas In Garbage Bribes

Another guilty plea is expected today in the ongoing federal investigation into trash hauling contracts in Macomb County.
Macomb Township attorney Angelo Selva is due in Federal Court today on charges he concealed a bribery conspiracy involving Rizzo Environmental Services from investigators.

Specifically, that he knew of a bribery scheme between Clinton Township Trustee Dean Reynolds and Rizzo officials and others and didn’t inform authorities.

At least eight people have been charged in the bribery scheme.

All but Reynolds have accepted plea deals.

He is awaiting trial and is due in court tomorrow for a pre-trial hearing.

Former New Haven trustees Christopher Craigmiles and Bret Harris previously pled guilty and are scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday.

The Federal investigation has been ongoing for over eight months with investigators saying thousands of dollars in bribes were paid to numerous officials.
