Possible Terror Attack At Flint Bishop

Flint Bishop Airport was evacuated  after  an airport police officer was stabbed. It remains closed.

Lieutenant Jeff Neville  was stabbed in the neck and is  in critical condition. Sources say Neville was at his post at the top of the escalators at Bishop when he was attacked from behind with a large knife.

A witness reportedly told law enforcement that the attacker yelled “allah akbar” as he did the stabbing. The attacker is in custody.

Neville  is currently second in command with airport police at Bishop. Neville is a retired Genesee County sheriff’s deputy.

There is a line of law enforcement vehicles on the western side of the airport. Dogs have searched the airport. It is believed that no one else was involved.

Flint police, Flushing police, Flint Township police, the state police crime lab, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and the Oakland County Sheriff are all at the airport. The FBI has taken the lead on the investigation. “Based on information that we have at this time, we believe this to be an isolated incident,” the FBI said in a statement.

The FAA allowed a few flights to take off immediately after the stabbing was reported. But flights have been suspended for the last several hours.

WJR will air any updates from authorities live on AM 760.
