Unfortunately, two shootings are taking some of the luster off the big night.

A woman was shot outside Hart Plaza in front of the Spirit of Detroit statue, just before the fireworks. Police say the 47 year-old woman was a bystander while young men were arguing, and then shots were fired. The woman was shot to the hip. She was taken to an area hospital. two men are in custody.

On the west side of downtown after the crowd was dispersing,  police say a teen was shot in the stomach and a girl was grazed in the arm after an altercation with two women and a man.
