The annual Stars and Stripes festival begins this week … in a new home.
The event had been held for a decade in Macomb County.
It had started in Mount Clemens as a free street fest and quickly became one of the biggest summer events.
It included rock bands, monster trucks and carnival rides.
Negotiations to keep it in Macomb County didn’t work out.
It’s new home will be the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
It will give the city of Novi its first major fireworks show.
The festival opens today and runs through Sunday.
