A Pontiac teenager is due in court today where he faces a charge of first degree murder.
Police say it was an attempted armed robbery gone wrong.
19 year old William Nelson is charged in the slaying of Marcus Burkett.
He was shot in the neck.
Two other teenagers, as well as Nelson, were also shot
Nelson was originally given a court-appointed attorney, but his father appeared in court last week and said that he has hired well-known criminal defense attorney Elbert Hatchett to defend his son.
Nelson is charged with open murder … a charge that could send him to prison for the rest of his life.
