Black Slate Backs Duggan

Detroit mayor Mike Duggan racks up another important endorsement in this fall’s elections.
Duggan will get the backing of the Black Slate in Detroit. The Black Slate, a group of church activists and other organizations, has been key in helping elect other candidates over the years, including Coleman Young.
Yesterday, Duggan gained the endorsement of AFSCME Council 25, which represents many city of Detroit workers.
Duggan has already been endorsed by the Detroit NAACP.
Detroit’s primary is next Tuesday. The general election is in November.
