He Shouldn’t Have Been On The Road

A preliminary exam is scheduled for today for a Fenton man charged in a car crash in which five people were killed.
22 year old Matthew Carrier is charged with five counts of murder.

Police say he was drunk and traveling at a speed approaching 100 miles per hour back on May 9th when he failed to stop at the stop sign at M-59 in Oceola Township and smashed into a car driving eastbound of M-59.

It rolled over and caught fire.

Two passengers in his car were killed and three in the car he hit.

Carrier and another passenger in his car were injured.

Investigators say Carrier’s license had been suspended indefinitely in September of last year.

The charges against him could send him to prison for life.
