A mother in southwest Michigan is due in court today to face first-degree murder charges in the death of her six month old son.
Police say 22 year old Lovily Johnson of Wyoming left the boy virtually unsupervised and strapped in a car seat in an upstairs room and that the apartment was sweltering because of 90 degree heat and no air conditioning.
It was reported that she was visiting friends and smoking marijuana at the time.
Police say by the time she found the boy unresponsive and took him to the hospital, the baby was dead and the body had already began to decompose.
